Valentine's Day: a time for love, romance, and... weird gifts? It seems so!
When we decided to launch Kumari around Valentine's Day, we knew we didn't want to be just part of the crowd- we wanted to be able to speak to the 'heart'. We all agreed that while everyone loved Valentine's Day, not everything was perfect- especially the gifts! Everyone got the same terrible teddy bears, heart-shaped chocolates, and some unimaginable gifts, as we eventually found out.
Imagine unwrapping anti-dandruff shampoo, discovering a torn dress, or, perhaps the most bewildering of all, receiving a timer to limit your bathroom time to five minutes. Yes, these are all gifts that people have received. Read on to know how we discovered these 'gems'.

For our launch, we decided to crowd-source the best of the worst Valentine's Gifts we received. With a cute teaser, we expected to hear from a few people and maybe have a good laugh. But what started as a playful campaign on social media quickly turned into a confessional of sorts—a space where people from all walks of life shared their stories of terrible gifts, funny and otherwise.

As the comments poured in, we were inspired to create a gift that will always be loved. We turned our logo into The Kumari Heart Charm- something charming, elegant, and oh-so-gift-able. And to ease the pain of some of our fellow sufferers, we chose to gift 20 best-of-the-worst gifting stories! But the stories kept coming, our hearts grew three sizes, and we expanded our gifts to 25 lucky souls. To us, this isn't just a charm; it is a symbol of our commitment to love every facet of our individuality, and we want everyone to feel cherished despite the terrible gifts in their past.
Our campaign, fuelled by the stories of our community, became a crusade against the boring, clichéd, and downright bizarre gifts. And now with "Make Gifts Great Again," we want to make every occasion, not just Valentine's Day, an opportunity to gift with the heart (pun intended).
We believe that jewellery should live outside the confines of a locker, getting flaunted by us every day and making every moment extra fun, beautiful and exciting. Our mission is clearer than ever: to rescue jewellery from just being worn during so-called ‘special occasions’ and give it its rightful place- as a way to make EVERYDAY EXTRA.
